Business & Organizational Partners
PATH ONE
Business and Organizational Partners
You have a real, mission-aligned business that needs a site 45 minutes from San Francisco to host some kind of regular work on a cadence (weekly, monthly, seasonally, annually). The business is real. You know that you would like access to the land with some regularity as a venue.
The Land includes
a 300 square foot studio with an open wall that can comfortably hold about 15 people in a circle
an outdoor dining table that can seat 20 easily
a large fire pit (Hearth)
a 3-acre meadow with 3 outdoor classrooms: one for 12, one for 7, and one for 40
10-acres of maintained trails on the property
multiple forest bathing platforms, a hammock, incredible places to rest throughout
ideal for a rhythm of gather centrally for an activity, then spread out into small groups, dyads, individually
we can host 20 people easily with no sense of crowding
47 old-growth Douglas Fir trees in the primary meadow: a ring of ancient sentient beings
We have explored this with a number of people and organizations: here is what we’ve learned about what tends to work and what doesn’t.
WHAT IS LIKELY TO WORK
You need a place in pristine nature, where the wildness and vitality of the place is part of what your clients are coming for
You are working with a group that is comprised of 20 people or less
You are not hoping to do this in November, December, January, or February when it is likely to be raining heavily and cold (the primary structure here is open to the weather, so if it is 48 degrees outside, it will be 48 degrees inside)
We have explored this route with organizations seeking to host retreats, trainings, and off-sites (including consultants and a university)
This could be a remarkable place to bring a team of clients for an off-site to help them think differently about a problem or do culture work, etc.
A remarkable site to host a weekly men’s circle, or women’s group, or parenting group lead by a therapist or facilitator
We’ve explored using the venue to host forest bathing and eco-therapy: remarkable for both
We are already using it as the primary venue for our trainings in autonomic physiology
We have used it as a primary venue for hard-ground tracking and deep nature awareness trainings
We’ve explored partnering with a nature awareness organization serving adults or children
People carpool in, or arrive and depart together so that traffic moves in a cluster not sporadically throughout the day
WHAT IS LIKELY NOT TO WORK
Your clients expect a spa or resort-like atmosphere
They are oblivious to self and Nature (this is a Sacred site, she doesn’t like that)
You are working on a project that is not ecologically aligned (She doesn’t like that)
Twenty cars coming and going throughout the day (neighbors get upset)
If you are interested…
And have a sense that there is alignment between what you would like to do, and what we’ve noted about what tends to work well for the land, please fill out the form at right with as much detail as you can, and send it to us. We will respond to all form inquiries, even if it is just to let you know that there is not a fit (of course, we hope that there is.)
